Surgical Hysteroscopy is a minimally invasive procedure that treats conditions inside the uterus. Doctors insert a thin, lighted scope through the vagina and cervix to view the uterine cavity. This allows them to perform surgery without external cuts.
Doctors use Surgical Hysteroscopy to remove polyps or fibroids, correct a uterine septum, and treat abnormal bleeding. They may also clear retained tissue after miscarriage, remove intrauterine devices (IUDs), or treat scar tissue from Asherman’s syndrome.
Most patients have Surgical Hysteroscopy on an outpatient basis with local, regional, or general anesthesia. Recovery is usually fast, with many returning to daily life within one or two days. Because the method is less invasive than open surgery, patients experience less pain, faster healing, smaller scars, and precise results in treating uterine problems.
