Endodontics is a specialized branch of dentistry focused on diagnosing and treating problems related to the dental pulp — the soft tissue inside the tooth that contains nerves and blood vessels. When the pulp becomes infected or inflamed due to decay, trauma, or deep fractures, endodontic treatment (most commonly a root canal) is performed to remove the damaged tissue, disinfect the root canal, and seal the tooth to prevent further infection.
This procedure relieves pain, restores function, and helps preserve the natural smile for years to come.
